Gerald J. Hampton, Jr., serves as the Managing Partner and Head of Litigation for Hampton & Harrison, LLC, Attorneys at Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of New Orleans. After graduating from the University of New Orleans, Gerald attended Loyola New Orleans College of Law where he graduated with his Juris Doctor. After graduating from Law School, Gerald clerked for the Honorable June Berry Darensburg of the Twenty-Fourth Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson. Upon finishing his clerkship, Gerald joined the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office as an Assistant Attorney General where he represented the State of Louisiana in matters involving road hazard, general liability, and medical malpractice. Gerald subsequently joined the City Attorney’s Office where he represented the City of New Orleans in general liability matters, civil service, and other areas of civil litigation. He is an experienced litigator having tried several cases in both State and Federal Courts throughout Louisiana.

Gerald is a proud veteran, having served honorably in the Louisiana Army National Guard for 13 years. During his military career, Gerald responded to countless emergency operations to include hurricane Katrina. Gerald also answered the nation’s call by serving two tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His military decorations and awards include but are not limited to; The Army Commendation Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, The Iraq Campaign Medal w/ Campaign Star(2nd award), and The United States Army Combat Action Badge.

Gerald is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, having been initiated into the fraternity in 2010. 

Gerald resides in New Orleans with his wife April Hampton and their dog Gunnar.
